About Garage Floor Coatings
Garage floors take more abuse than any other floor in the home, vehicle traffic, hot tires, road salt, oil, dropped tools. If you want a floor that looks good and holds up, you generally have three options: a standard concrete paint (least durable, lowest cost), an epoxy coating (durable, glossy, good middle ground), or a polyaspartic coating (most durable, fastest cure, highest cost). During your estimate we’ll walk you through which fits your garage, your budget, and how you use the space.
Garage Painting FAQs
Do I have to empty my garage before painting?
For wall and ceiling painting, we can work around stored items by covering them or moving them to the center of the space. If you’re having the floor coated, the garage needs to be fully empty for that portion of the project. We’ll coordinate this with you during scheduling.
How long does a garage painting project take?
Walls and ceilings typically take one to two working days. Adding a floor coating usually extends the project by two to four days, depending on the coating type and cure time.
Can I park in my garage right after?
You can put light items back in the same day. For walls and ceilings, everything is dry within hours. If we’re applying a floor coating, we’ll give you specific cure times, typically 24 hours for foot traffic and 72 hours before parking a vehicle on it, depending on the product.
Do you use special paint for garages?
We use durable, washable products designed for high-traffic residential spaces. Ceiling paint tends to be flat or matte; walls are usually eggshell or satin for easier cleaning; trim gets a semi-gloss.
Can you match the color to the rest of my house?
Yes. Matching your garage to the rest of the home is a common request, and we can work off existing paint codes or match a color you like.
What if I only want the ceiling painted?
Ceiling-only garage projects are common and quick, usually a one-day project. Just let us know during the estimate.
